Finding the Source for True Success
truesuccessWe need a standard to live by which determines true success. The Bible says that God is a spirit of love, truth, and light. Truth is a set of standards in words, filled with direction and purpose. Frank Peretti, the author of “This Present Darkness,” says, “Truth is truth whether you believe it or not. Truth is truth whether you have heard it or not. And, truth is truth whether you like it or not.” There are sets of ultimate truths found in the Bible that are guidelines and instructions for changing hearts, families, businesses, cultures, and even nations.

Roger Babson, the 1920’s author of “Fundamentals of Prosperity,” interviewed the President of Argentina and asked why South America, with all its natural resources, was so far behind North America in terms of progress and marketing. The President replied, “I came to the conclusion, South America was settled by the Spanish who came in search of gold, but North America was settled by Pilgrim Fathers who went in search of God.”

Whether we are full believers in the Bible or are non-believers, we have a common problem. We are trapped in our existing journey, belief, and knowledge base. The Bible also says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” Our family or lack of family, gives us the first glimpse of our interpretation of the correct knowledge base. Then we acquire insights and knowledge from friends, teachers, role models, and the trials of our journey. Good or bad, we are all on quest like the Pilgrims and Founding fathers to find the truth for our life and those we influence.

Without a doubt, the Bible is our best standard. The Lord speaks through the Word (Bible). That is why it is called, “The Living Word.” Its called living because the Holy Spirit talks to the true believer with new insight and direction. But if we are not spiritually connected, tuned to the right frequency it makes no more sense than your normal logic or reason.

It is clear that without God's word abiding in us True Success will never be achieved.
